Window Rock
In 1936, the tribal headquarters of the Navajo Nation was established in the Arizona city named for the eponymous rock formation where it is located. The "window" in this sandstone formation measures 50 feet wide.
For fans of Tony Hillerman's novels, Lt Joe Leaphorn is stationed at Window Rock.
