Desert Southwest
Since my first visit to this part of the country in my early 20's, I have been enamored with the stark beauty, enjoyed all of the various eco-systems from deserts, to canyons, to mountain forests, and learned about Native American cultures and their Anasazi predecessors. It is also the only place in the world where I feel small - dwarfed by big sky and huge natural artifacts.
In the summer of 2019, I had the opportunity to revisit some of my favorite places in Arizona, and see some new places in New Mexico - this time with my camera. These are some of my favorite shots.

Winged Hoodoos #2
The Bisti Badlands in New Mexico are famous for these winged hoodoos (also known as fairy chimneys) . The totem-like structures were created by erosion of alternating layers of rock and minerals.
